Add the Pal species you currently own under “Owned Pals” (or leave the list empty), pick a “Target Pal”, then click “Find shortest route” to get the breeding route with the fewest generations starting from the Pals you already have.
Route plans list each generation of parent combinations. When a formula requires a specific gender for either parent, that requirement is marked; otherwise, the parents only need to be opposite sexes, and which parent is male or female does not affect the child. Pals marked “Owned” are ones you already have and do not need to breed, while “Shared” marks a Pal reused by multiple branches of the route.

Some Pals—mostly special-breeding and boss Pals—can only be produced by breeding two Pals of the same species, so you must obtain the first one by other means such as catching or hatching eggs. Breeding two Pals of the same species also requires owning one male and one female of that species.
A shortest route plan is a complete multi-generation path from the Pals you own to the target. Direct breeding formulas only list parent combinations that produce the target in one step, regardless of whether you own those parents.
