Pal Breed: A Palworld Breeding Calculator and Reference Site

Palworld's breeding system looks simple at first: put two Pals and a cake into a Breeding Farm, then hatch the egg. But breeding one specific Pal is much more complicated:

  • The current version has nearly 300 Pals and more than 40,000 possible parent pairs. Nobody can memorize them all.
  • The child is determined by Breeding Power. The game calculates a target value from the parents' Breeding Power, then selects the closest Pal from the candidate pool. To hatch a low-Breeding-Power late-game Pal, you need the right stepping-stone parents.
  • Special Breeding Recipes are another exception: one fixed parent pair produces one fixed child. They can make a large jump that ignores the usual Breeding Power pattern, but the game never tells you which pairs they are.

A Wiki table can help you look up one recipe. It cannot answer a question such as, “With the Pals already in my Palbox, what steps do I need to take to hatch Jormuntide Ignis?” Pal Breed is built to answer that question.

This guide walks through how to use the site.

Breeding Calculator: Three Ways to Search

The Breeding Calculator on the home page supports three search modes for the most common situations:

  1. Choose one parent only: see what it can breed with every other Pal. This is useful when you have just caught a Pal and want to know what it can lead to.
  2. Choose two parents: see their child directly. Use this to confirm a result before spending cake.
  3. Choose a target child only: look up every parent pair that can hatch it. This is the most useful mode. Every Pal also has its own formula page, such as all breeding combinations for Jormuntide Ignis.

Above the results is a set of parent filters. You can separately exclude the World Tree, the Summoning Altar, parents with a minimum wild level of 60 or above, and formulas where one parent is the same species as the child. Early-game players can focus on combinations they can actually obtain instead of being buried under late-game formulas.

Breeding Path Planner: From the Pals You Own to Your Target

The Breeding Path Planner is the site's most powerful feature. It takes two steps to use:

  1. In the grid picker, select the Pals you already own. The picker is grouped by minimum spawn level, making it easier to compare choices with your current progress. Your selection is stored temporarily in the current browser tab, so it survives a page refresh; you will need to select it again after closing the tab or browser.
  2. Choose a target Pal. The planner calculates the shortest breeding route from your owned Pals, measured in breeding generations. Each route card shows the two parents for every step, what they hatch, and the total number of generations. Below the route, you can also see every direct breeding formula for the target.

The planner includes Special Breeding Recipes, so it can often find a shorter path than you would expect. Starting with early Pals, a few special-recipe jumps can reach Jormuntide Ignis at Breeding Power 170 in only a handful of steps. See the full route in the Special Breeding Table guide.

For example, starting with an early-caught Loupmoon, Sweepa, and Azurobe, the planner finds a three-generation shortest route to Petallia Ignis:

Mark the Pals you hatch as owned, then plan again with Jormuntide Ignis as the target. The next route is just as easy to follow:

Special Breeding Table: 81 Fixed Recipes

The site includes all 81 Special Breeding Recipes in the current version, excluding self-breeding and collaboration Pals. They are sorted by Breeding Power drop: the lower-Breeding-Power parent minus the child. The largest drop is 820, meaning a single breeding can drop Breeding Power by two major tiers.

By default, the table shows the 9 key recipes with a drop of 400 or more. Turn off the filters to see the complete list. If you want to hatch a low-Breeding-Power Pal, this is the best list of stepping stones to check. You can find the table in the Special Breeding Table guide.

Breeding Power and the Lowest-Level Spawn Region

Every Pal profile includes two useful pieces of data:

  • Breeding Power: the core value that determines breeding results. All formulas and route calculations on the site use it. See the complete data in the Breeding Power table.
  • Lowest-Level Spawn Region: this considers wild spawns, dungeons, fishing spots, and Meteorite or Supply Drop events. It identifies where a Pal can be encountered at its lowest recorded level. Read the Region Tier guide for how this value is calculated.

Together, these values answer the most practical question: “Can I get this Pal at my current point in the game?”

Pal Dex and Spawn Maps

The Pal Dex includes every Pal's elements, work suitability, drops, and more. Profiles with location data also include a spawn map that marks wild or fishing locations, so you do not need to hunt through text descriptions.

A Few More Details

  • Seven languages: Simplified Chinese, Traditional Chinese, English, Japanese, Korean, German, and Italian. Both the interface and Pal names are localized.
  • Free, with no account required: it is a tool site that works as soon as you open it.
  • Version-aware data: the site is based on Palworld 1.0 game data. Recipes and routes will be corrected when a game update changes them.

If you are planning your next target Pal, give Pal Breed a try and skip some trial-and-error breeding. Feedback is always welcome if you run into a problem or find a result that does not match the game.
